"Snake Cult Initiation" is a black enchantment printed as an uncommon for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Future Sight." This is a rather interesting card to have as it provides a feasible and more realistic way to win a game against your opponents. So far, you can use this in a control deck or an aggressive deck that uses black cards. Either way you plan to play, Snake Cult Initiation is a very handy enchantment card to have.
The converted mana cost for Snake Cult Initiation is four. You are going to need one black mana and three colorless mana to play the Snake Cult Initiation card and enchant it on a creature. Make sure the creature neither has Shroud nor Protection from Black. For what Snake Cult Initiation can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. Keep in mind that Snake Cult Initiation is an enchantment spell. That means Snake Cult Initiation is susceptible to anything and everything that affects enchantment spells.
What does Snake Cult Initiation do in the first place?
The creature that gets enchanted with Snake Cult Initiation receives Poisonous 3. Any creature with the Poisonous ability should be taken seriously. These creatures provide one with an alternative means to winning the game. When those creatures deal combat damage to a player, they leave behind poison counters. Those poison counters stay with the player for the whole game. Any player that receives at least ten poison counters will lose the game.
In the case of Snake Cult Initiation, the enchanted creature gets to leave behind three poison counters. In this respect, the creature enchanted with Snake Cult Initiation needs to deal combat damage to a player up to four times.
If your opponent is not running black or artifact creatures, you could enchant Snake Cult Initiation on a creature that has Fear. Fear means that the creature can only be blocked by black creatures and artifact creatures. This gives you a surefire way to deal those poison counters to an opponent.
You can enchant Snake Cult Initiation onto a creature with Trample. If an opponent blocks, s/he is still taking the combat damage and the poison counters. A creature with Double Strike that goes unblocked would deal six poison counters to an opponent. If you enchant Snake Cult Initiation onto a creature you know will be able to deal combat damage to an opponent, then the game is virtually yours.
Overall, Snake Cult Initiation is quite the impressive creature enchantment. As long as you can deal combat damage to an opponent, Snake Cult Initiation gives you another means to win the game.
