I am careful

I am careful because you hurt me. I am careful because my heart needs to heal.
Since I loved you so freely, I am careful.

My life is different now. I am not as giving of myself, I am not as open with my heart. I fear more about my feelings, what if I am never to give my all again? What would happen if I did?

Life can be dangerous, but failing to live life to the fullest is also perilous. I must take a chance and dive into the unknown...but I am still careful.
