WHY YOU SHOULD NOT GET MARRIED:

We all get opportunities to be with someone we can live with or marry. Whether we actually decide we want to marry them should depend on all sorts of reasons. It should not be assumed that because we are seeing or dating someone we want to live with them or marry them. Years ago it was assumed that any couple who dated each other was doing so in the hope that it would lead to marriage. As things stand now, things are very different because we now find it more acceptable and normal that people are not seeking marriage or living together. People now have a lot more choices over what their lifestyle is and do not have their family or friends frowning upon their choices.

There are lots of reasons why marriage can be a bad idea, depending on what sort of lifestyle suits your needs and wishes, what you have to offer a partner and who the person is that you may end up married to. Now is acceptable and sometimes even encouraged people sometimes choose to have children out of wedlock with plans to marry their partner after the birth of the child or with no plans to marry them at all, so nobody can use the excuse or reason that they must get married because a baby is on the way.

But some people are still very clingy and needy and these people are the ones who would maybe marry for the wrong reasons. If they have financial problems, are too lazy to work and want someone to keep them or find it hard to take on the responsibilities of every day life there is the probability that they would want to marry just to have someone to lean on and look after them, a bit like a mother or father. Of course, such a marriaige has nothing to do with love and has very little chance of bringing either of them any true happiness as the strong one is just being used as a convenience and the needy one is going to realise one day that that is not enough.

Another reason people get married, sometimes, is because they love the idea of a huge flashy wedding, followed by an expensive reception and then a fantastic honeymoon. They will gladly spend a great deal of money and lots of energy and time on arranging all of this, as if the day of the ceremony is the only thing that matters and is more important than who they marry or what follows after that day. When people get married for this reason they are in love with love and the choice of partner becomes almost totally unimportant. It is almost as if they would marry anyone at all.
