Christmas time tends to bring out the best in most people. It is fun to make some kind of Christmas craft to spread the joy and let friends, family and know they got a present and a chunk of the crafters time. Many appreciate those kinds of decorations and gifts. So lets take a look at where we can find some great ideas.
~ Festival of Trees ~
These festivals are becoming more common all over the country. They are trees that are decorated and donated. They are then sold and all the money goes to charity. It is a great event. They also have many craft tables where crafts can be made and sold. All of it is to benefit a cause. The one in this area is for the Childrens' Medical Center.
So go, and pay the admission price. Make and buy one of everything and come home and duplicate. It is a good way to help others and yourself at the same time.
~ Television ~
Take some time to really look through the guide. There are numerous programs that offer wonder Christmas craft ideas. Typically a big push begins in July and only grows bigger as December 25th approaches. The guide will provide times and a dvr recorder will help to make sure that one does not have to spend hours in front of the television set. Set the timer and watch and create when time permits.
~ Web sites ~
Clearly there are a number of sites, too big to imagine that cover Christmas crafts. Some of them seem to have more original and clear contents that others. It is often about personal preference, but here is the list.
www.bhg.com
Better Homes and Gardens has been a trusted name for years. The web site offers many things that one can not find in the traditional magazine and with minimal advertisements. They have both video and text instructions on many of the projects. One of the most valuable tools on this site is the ability to clip the projects you like to check back later. There are also areas for comments on the projects by other crafters and there are 1000's of great tips.
The site is easy to maneuver and gives clear and big pictures.
www.lionbrands.com
For those who knit and crochet this is a great site. While they promote their brand most of pattens can be adapted to many kinds of yarns and fiber. They also off a time estimate for a craft. This is a very useful and appreciated tool.
www.favecrafts.com
This site has a lot of original content, but is not as user friendly as some. The crafts are ideal, the web site is not.
www.familyfun.go
It is Disney. It is cute. It is easy.
Ideas are easy to come by. It is a harder task to set aside the time.
