Dear God,

At this Thanksgiving

Please bring some peace upon the earth

Stop all the senseless killing,

Heal those who are overcome with hurt.

Reap blessings on our soldiers

Who fight for our country's cause

And all their families left at home

Who are also taking pause.

Give all our teachers strength

To continue bringing education

And all the doctors and nurses

For their care and dedication.

Bless all the little children

Who go to sleep tonight

Without a feast like we have

And make their lives all right.

Bless the mother at the Quik-Stop

Working a shift on this holiday,

And the policeman on his watch

So we get home quite safe.

Please watch over the homeless pets

Who no one strokes or feeds,

They just want a home like us

And someone who cares about their needs.

There are so many needing prayers

I don't know where to stop,

But send out all your mercy, God,

we need you an awful lot..
