Today
A slight glimmer
Momentary, quick, come and gone like a baited breath
Held and savored,
Almost too soon to be remembered -
And then the baited breaths of countless tomorrows -
Past memories blend with the present, current fortunes
Until no time exists:
No tomorrows, then, and no yesterdays,
But only today, ever and always ...
