Thanksgiving is almost here and that means that people are already thinking about how they will decorate their Christmas Tree. One of the most important decorations on a Christmas Tree are the lights. Nothing seems to be more enchanting than seeing lights on a Christmas Tree. There is almost something mystical about the warm glow of Christmas Tree lights.

There are many different choices when selecting Christmas Tree lights. There are so many choices that the decision can seem overwhelming. There are a few things that people can do to help clarify their needs and simplify the decision.

Questions to answer

Will there be a theme for the tree?

One of the more popular trends in Christmas Tree decorating is to create trees with a specific theme. These styles of decorating will often determine many aspects about the lights that will be purchased. Knowing the theme will help make the lighting choices much easier. This should be one of the first decisions made about decorating the Christmas Tree.

How many lights will be needed?

Knowing how many lights are needed is crucial to getting the right kind and the right amount of lights. One factor that helps determine the number of lights needed is the size of the Christmas Tree. A larger tree is going to need more lights than a smaller tree. Another factor for the number of lights is the desired effect of the lighting. Some people like fewer lights and other like more lights. These factors are determined by personal likes and dislikes.

Issues to consider with Christmas Tree Lights

Color

The first issue that most people deal with when selecting Christmas Tree lights is the color. A number of different options are available. Some lights come with nothing but white bulbs for a clear look on the tree. Other strands come with multiple colors and then others come with all the same color. The uniform colored lights often make Christmas Tree themes much easier to accomplish.

Style

The style of lighting is another main issue that people wrestle with. Blinking or non-blinking, that is the question. When choosing lights know whether the display is going to be with lights that stay on or if blinking or flashing lights will be used. There are also lights that blink in patterns and create feelings of movement. Know the style of lights desired before making the purchase.
