Turkey Bowl backyard football on Thanksgiving Day.
All the women are baking and cooking 'cause they don't care to play.
But me, I hate the thought of cooking and the kitchen makes me dizzy.
Why bake pies and stir gravy when I've got games to keep me busy?

As defensive end I am ready to burst out and attack,
'cause nobody's getting through my line, I conquer running backs.
Just try to pass, I dare you, you'll never see me coming.
A quarterback sack from a girl would be rather ego numbing.

Watch out when I'm on offense, I'm on the line again.
I don't care how mean your stare, I stay low and go for shins.
You guys better stop worrying about bruising this  girl,
I know that I could hit you hard enough to make you hurl.

In the end it doesn't matter if we win or lose,
I'm just proud of my battle wounds and my black and purple bruise.
My whole gang of uncles, cousins, bros and I
wander inside, stained with mud, exchanging spry high fives.

We're forbidden from the kitchen or anywhere near the feast,
until we wash up and change to no longer look like beasts.
We are so grateful for this day of family, food and football
that we always give out hugs and thanks to grandmas, aunts and all.
