European honeymoons: Good or bad idea? This is a really subjective question and will depend on several factors.
One factor is who you ask? If you ask some one from the Caribbean or Florida or even Las Vegas They will say it is a horrible idea and you will be told to head to the Caribbean/Florida/ Las Vegas. They will say these places are all more romantic/ more restful/more private/more exciting. Are they? Not if you ask a European!
The next factor is what does the couple on the honeymoon want? If they just want to rest and relax after a busy wedding, maybe traveling around Europe isn't the best and they should head down to the Caribbean. If they want to explore castles, busy cities and experience fine European cuisine, think about Greece or France because those things aren't found in Florida or Las Vegas.
Time needs to be considered for determining if a European honeymoon is a good or bad idea, and there are several factors of time to think about. One is the time of year. Spring and summer is lovely and you have the German Oktoberfest (if you are wanting to drink excessively on your honeymoon), but fall is rather dreary and wet. Winter can be scenic, but roads can get blocked from the snow and so you may not see much of Europe.
The other Time to think about is how much time do you have. Is it a few days or two-plus weeks? A short honeymoon will not give much chance to really explore or appreciate Europe and you may spend all your time in airports or train terminals, a bad idea on any honeymoon! If you have time though it is wonderful to explore Paris, visit Rome or sample Greece's cuisine!
In business time is money, but money isn't always time and money can be important in planning the honeymoon. It is not a good idea to start your married life together by running up debts. A European honeymoon not carefully planned can get expensive. If you don't gamble even Las Vegas is cheaper.
European honeymoon: Good or bad idea? It is a very subjective question with no right or wrong answer. Each couple must look at all the factors involved and decide for themselves! It is a tough choice, but only one of many that they will now need to think about together.
