Charleston South Carolina is a city that has a love affair with food and drink and with that has come the coffee shop. Charlestonians take as much pride in their coffee drinks as they take in their wonderfully historic city. When you are in Charleston you will have plenty of choices of where to get your morning brew, your latte or your espresso.
This is where you come when you aren't in a hurry and you want to sit on the patio and catch up with your friends or just listen to the sounds of Charleston. The name itself Kudu expresses their philosophy since the horn of the Kudu, an African antelope is used to called people to gather.
The coffees here stay true to their roots; the owner only selects the best that Africa has to offer. Some of unique blends and others are single origin. They cover the African continent from Tanzania and Cameroon to Kenya and Ethiopia. Some are potent others are decaf; there is something here for everyone.
Like all good coffee shops they have their own share of specialty drinks, with great names like the Frosted cricket and the Mama John Truffle. You can have a cappuccino, a macchiato or a Kaffe mocha.
If you want a snack they serve pastry and offer free WIfi. Come in, sit and relax, Kudu calls.
This is a small welcoming coffee house in a great location. They offer free WiFi and plenty of lively conversation. In addition to coffee you can get cakes and sandwiches and even an Italian cheese plate.
This is a very popular early morning coffee spot for their own blend but they offer specials and later in the day its espresso and a Frappen A. Best of all is the location, only one block from the Market.
While Kaminisky's isn't just a coffee shop it does sure coffee and it when it comes to places to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake, this is the place to go. The cakes are baked on site and the selection changes. If you want a piece of Red Velvet cake that is over the top both in size and taste, it doesn't get better than here. They also do a mile high coconut cake that made me one very happy patron.
Their coffee selection is reminiscent of a European cafe with cafe Vienna, latte, espresso and mochaccino. They serve Cuban coffee and Chai tea as well as hot chocolate and milkshakes. Their martini menu has plenty of offerings both for the girls and the guys.
This is located right in the heart of the action and expect to see lines to get a seat. We took our treats away with us to eat back at our hotel and if you are eating at T Bonz you can get Kaminisy's dessert in their restaurant.
These are just a few of the local coffee shops in Charleston, South Carolina. As you would expect they also have plenty pf chain coffee shops and you will surely be able to find your favorite.
