My angel was crafted carefully.
Bits of blood, brains and bones.
Fresh features and flawless flesh.
My angel was designed dutifully.
A submissive yet feisty little lamb.
A long life played out for her.
She was a wonderful wife.
Three children...four grandchildren.
Three wars...many seasons of strife.
My angel was once surrounded...
But now she's nearly all alone.
Sitting by her telephone.
In front of the television.
She is still such a vision.
My angel is nearly ninety-one.
My blessed, wondrous mom.

Tonight I saw an angel
The tiniest angel of all
My baby angel is peaceful
He doesn't dare to cry
His heart is beating slowly
Translucent
