Christmas 2009: Hottest toys for 3- to 4-year-old kids

Christmas can be a great joy for these wide eyed little munchkins because they are truthfully experiencing the Christmas spirit for the first time. It is great fun giving them cookies and milk for Santa, hanging their stocking, and singing Christmas Carols but the gift have to be just right to complete the experience.

There is a poem out there that tells us what little boys and girls are made of, but truthfully, the toys that you give them at this age help develop how much they love certain things in life.

Don't be afraid if your child tends to play with toys that are outside of their traditional gender such as girls playing with tucks or boys playing with kitchen or cleaning toys, because it is completely normal to explore new things! Remember, everything is new for them, so you find them mimicking you in fixing things or vacuuming the floor then they are well on their way in this world of knowledge!

Now is a time to build, pretend, and expand understanding so that your little one can develop into the best that they can be. Also, don't feel everything you have to buy your toddler has to be the best new thing out because quite frankly they won't care if it's an age old dollar toy or an expensive top of the line gift that's brand new. Here's a list of the hottest toys out there this season for 2 and 3 year olds.

Creative toys:
Melissa and Doug have made a name for themselves with their wooden toys, puzzles, blocks, and more. This time we are featuring a very basic toy that is part of the early years of most adolescent lives, building blocks. This 100 Piece Block Set features various shapes and colors and will ensure hours of fun for the toddler in your life. Sit down with them and help them understand how to build towers and then knock them down! You can also find a few other building block gifts if your child already has building blocks.

You can find the Mellissa and Doug Stacking Train which features blocks that must be put together in a specific way to complete the train. They will play for hours with the train and its pieces. If you buy it online, you can find it new for about $14. Fisher Price, in the spirit helping every family depict Christmas from their beliefs, has introduced a new the final part of the three piece Christmas set in the Little People Line. With their Hanukkah With Family set, A Visit From Santa set, and Nativity Collection any person looking to celebrate the meaning of Christmas as they know it can find the right set for their child.
