Luxury vacations, everybody has heard of them, but what are they and what do they entail? Do you have to be a multi-millionaire to take one? Are they only to the Caribbean or Europe or some exotic location? How do you define a luxury vacation?

For starters, it is a vacation that should be a luxury. Now luxury has 3 basic definitions best given on the Free On-line Dictionary, they are :

1. Something inessential but conducive to pleasure and comfort. 2. Something expensive or hard to obtain. 3. Sumptuous living or surroundings: lives in luxury.
If you just use the first definition, any vacation can be classified as a Luxury Vacation and it can be to anywhere in the world as long as it is nonessential and is conductive to pleasure and comfort. Now the question arises as to why anybody would take a vacation that was un-pleasurable and uncomfortable. May this is to remove those scout camping trip that parents are often forced to endure!
The second definition is more along the lines of what most people expect, something expensive or difficult to obtain. By this definition, a luxury vacation is one that is really expensive and difficult to obtain. This can mean renting a villa at $10,000+ per night and comes with private pools, personal chefs, and a butler to open your beer bottles! It may be a private yacht with a helicopter and dancing girls. Those are expensive for most and it can be difficult to obtain a really good chef (Where as most ladies dance really well)!
Then we come to the last definition of luxury and that can combine well with vacation, sumptuous livings or surroundings. This can apply to anybody and to anywhere. You can rent a beautiful Ski Chateau in the Swiss Alps or a Exotic House in the sunny Caribbean and this will be the start of a luxury vacation! Ironically, just because it is sumptuous doesn't mean it has to be expensive, just fancy and nice. Sumptuous means pleasurable and high plentiful while high quality. This means that anybody can, and should take a luxury vacation!
So, luxury vacations are those which are exotic, where everything is provided in large quantities and in pleasant surroundings. They can be found anywhere and should be able to be afforded by anybody. So, why not treat yourself to a Luxury vacation this year!
