Poetry: Heartbreaker

by J. Lee Kenser

Created on: November 07, 2009   Last Updated: January 18, 2011

We fought this morning before you left.
We argued when you called me at noon.
By 3pm, you were just gone.
Someone with a gun took you from me.

I might have loved you more, stopped fighting.
I might have kissed you goodbye instead hollering at you.
I might have told you how much you meant to me.
I could have said goodbye, I love you.
