As a scientist, it may be expected that I would be on the opposing side of this debate; however the affirmative is the realistic argument simply because it already occurs and is all around us. The core question whether God and Darwinism can co-exist is "yes" because both have their rightful place in society, providing answers for all humans to live and exist by. To say that one school of thought is better or more correct than the other is simply false as long as it is accepted that they both have a different purpose. Now the debate is not asking whether "creationism" and "evolutionary theorem" can co-exist, it is asking whether God and Darwinism can, which of course they do because the presence of God is a state of belief and Darwinism is an explanation of how species have developed.
Firstly, the presence of God is of unknown possibility. Nobody can answer what is beyond our knowledge. Where God's role has been altered by Darwinism is as a logical explanation to why we exist, where we have come from and how the planet Earth works. Darwinism never attempts to explain the unexplainable - that is the role of faith and the role of God. Instead it takes observations in physical and biological differences, anthropological and archaeological evidence and applies relationships to how one event has lead to another, to result in a logical understanding for our current development. It would be ignorant for Darwinism to explain what occurs beyond our level of understanding or knowledge and that is the primary reason that God does happily co-exist with it.
God represents all that humans cannot logically explain; God represents the unknown and acts as a standard of morality for humans to live by. God represents "goodness" and "possibilities" the belief of his/her presence has never been asked, only the question of whether God created planet Earth was challenged. Until Darwin provided humanity with another way of explaining how life developed in The Origin of The Species, God acted for a long time as the explanation for existence, so it is only fair that argument arose.
Today after 200 years of stewing over the debate, Darwinism has progressively gained popularity as the more logical choice for existence. However, God still has a place in the human psyche as a reference point for happiness, life choices and comfort. There are times when even the most astute scientist will take a moment to say a little prayer in the hope that by having faith in the possibility that God does
