"Scout's Warning" is a white instant spell printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Future Sight." This is a card you want to have in a white deck with plenty of useful creatures. In a five color deck with creatures, Scout's Warning is perhaps one of the most useful cards to have on hand. Depending on how you use Scout's Warning, it can be one of the most useful cards on hand for the most part. With "Isochron Scepter," Scout's Warning becomes extremely useful.
The converted mana cost for Scout's Warning is one. You will need one white mana to cast Scout's Warning. For what Scout's Warning can do, the converted mana cost is well worth it. You only have to pay one mana for a card that grants to great abilities for your benefit. Keep in mind that Scout's Warning is an instant spell. It means that you can cast Scout's Warning at any time during the game.
What does Scout's Warning do in the first place?
The first ability of Scout's Warning gives Flash to the next creature card you can play. Sadly, you do have to pay the creature's casting cost. However, being able to play a creature before your turn starts is always good. The moment your turn starts, you can immediately attack with that creature or tap to use its abilities. This is perhaps the best thing about the Flash ability.
In the past, Flash was not that great because of a previous ruling saying that the permanent had to be sacrificed. Since then, the ruling has been done away with. Spells that can be played at anytime a player can play an instant spell are quite popular nowadays. If you have the mana to bring out a powerful creature, you can play Scout's Warning and then pay the mana to summon that creature. By the next turn, you have a creature ready. On top of that, you will have plenty of mana open to cast other spells. This is another reason that spells that have Flash is great.
On top of that, you get to draw a card. Being able to draw a card is a great bonus. This is due to having the card advantage. Another card equals another possible option when it is your turn.
To get the most out of Scout's Warning, you should have this artifact called "Isochron Scepter." You Exile an instant card with the converted mana cost of two or less from your hand. In this respect, you Exile Scout's Warning and imprint it onto Isochron Scepter. By paying two mana, you can tap Isochron Scepter and play the spell without paying the mana cost. In this respect, you can use Scout's Warning over and over again as long as Isochron Scepter remains on the battlefield.
