Currently our country is undergoing severe economic changes. Many people are experiencing layoffs and wondering where their next paycheck is going to come from. This is giving rise to an increase in people's searching to make money online. Bum marketing is one way to work from home by selling products online.

Bum marketing is also referred to as article marketing. The concept of bum marketing is very simple. You write articles around a given topic and submit these articles to article directories. As these articles get published they include a link back to you were product or website. This increases exposure to your product or website, increases the number of pages search engines will find, and can increase the number of customers to your product page or website.

The great feature of article marketing is that you can count on two different sources of traffic. This is a key point that is often missed by new marketers. Remember, heavy traffic generally means a rise in sales. What you do is simply write articles about the niche that your products or services are in. You might write some "how to" articles, you might write some articles about "why" certain ideas or products are better than others. It's all about driving traffic and making sales by using free techniques that still work today. Not every article will perform well, especially your first ones, but you've got to go through the ones that don't work to get to the ones that do.

Bum marketing or article marketing requires a large number of articles. An effective bum marketing or article marketing campaign should target each keyword around your product. For example, if you are selling a book about World of Warcraft, you would want articles that target such keywords as "World of Warcraft", "WoW", and "Warcraft". These are just a few examples, depending on your product; you may find more or less keywords.

You are also going to have to become efficient at writing articles. Article directories are also open to search engine spiders and could help improve page rank. It just went under the dreaded name of article marketing.
