Tips for creating a unique and professional logo

When starting up a business you have lots of different things that need to be done and there can be a lot of money involved. It can be hard to get going while trying to spend as little as possible.

A professional looking logo is a must for the success of a business. You may think that you need to go to a professional logo designer to get the best logo for your business. But it does not have to cost the earth. If you have the patience and picture editing/creation software like Paint Shop then you could create a professional looking logo yourself. This can be very satisfying. Every time you look at it you will say to your self I did that.

What you should take into account when looking to create a logo is what your business is and how you want to come across.

It should be a simple but eye catching design that represents what you and your business is about.

You don't even have to put your company name into the logo itself, it could be a picture that shows the world what you do.

Lets look at an example

Roker Joinery is a small family business with a home created logo which consists of the company name written in a mahogany wood effect writing. It is simple yet it works. One business cards and documentation this logo is used in conjunction with an image from some business cards that were bought from vista print.

If you don't feel that you can come up with a design why not try vista print as they do a free logo design service and have lots of different logos for you to choose from.

When the Roker Joinery logo was being created lots different designs were looked at before the final image was agreed on by everyone involved.

If after trying yourself and looking on vista print or simmiler sites you still have nothing then its time to look at spending a little money for a proffsional design service to creat the logo for you, but remember its your business you should always have the final say in what your logo should be. Let the profsionals come up with some ideas but make a point of telling them you want to e involved all the way and will be the one with the final say.
