The First Kiss
Mark and Kiarra lived next door to each other. Growing up they were always by each others side. They both lived in southern California. They both had nice big homes and they were both single children. They were each others best friends. They learned to walk together and talk together they even learned to swim together. Kiarra loved the water. Everyday she went outside to swim. As they got older they did not hang out together as often. Kiarra was popular in school. Mark was not. Kiarra was on the cheerleading squad and Mark, well Mark was considered to be a nerd. Mark had dark curly hair and glasses. He was tall and skinny and often did not stand out in a crowd. Kiarra was tall, tan, and pretty with long blond hair and blue eyes.
One day Kiarra was outside sitting at her big nice pool when Mark came buy. Kiarra was surprised she felt a tug at her heart, she couldn't understand what the feeling was. She was so surprised. She starred into his eyes and felt something stir inside her. Hi Mark she said softly, he glanced up and smiled and oll of a sudden she was lost in his eyes. What you doing? Mark asked quietly. Kiarra couldn't talk for a moment, until she coughed clearing her voice. I am good just hanging out outside trying to get a tan. Mark laughed. They sat in silence for a while. They finally decided to jump in the pool and cool down. Mark began to splash water on Kiarra. She laughed and splashed water back, They swam around the pool and did a few laps. After they stopped to rest Mark came over and gave her a hug. What was that for, she asked looking into his eyes? I just wanted to give you a hug and tell you thanks he responded. After that Mark went home. Kiarra headed inside and went to her journal, were she wrote her experiences everyday.
Im in love with Mark, it said. I don't know what to do. How can you tell someone your in love with them when you have known them your whole life? She decided to take her journal back outside she sat down on the lawn chair and continued to write. Explaining all that she felt for Mark. She wrote for a good hour. Her mother called her back inside. She left her journal sitting outside with the page open. Mark decided to stop back by the pool hoping she was still out. He had been thinking about her all afternoon. Were was she? He noticed the car was gone so he sat down on the lawn chair, it was then he saw her journal. Should I, he asked himself. He picked it up and began to read the journal. His heart pounded and he knew that he was in love with her.
The next week was there family's annual camp out trip. Ever year the two neighbors went camping. That afternoon they all put up there tents. He helped her put up her tent. Kiarra's dad announced that we were all going hiking. They each had partners in case anyone got lost. Mark and Kiarra were partners. On the trail Kiarra fell a little behind Mark stayed with her. They stared into each others eyes. Mark coughed and Kiarra wondered what he was going to say. He continued on. I read your journal. He said softly and I feel the same way about you,. I love you Kiarra. It took her breath away and the next thing they knew they were in each others arms. He kissed her softly and sweetly, It was there first kiss.
