Reviews: Marshall amplifiers

Marshall amplifiers have been around since the early days of rock n' roll. They were the primary choice of all rock guitarists and they still are today. There are several components to making a guitar amp sound good, which Marshall amps all have. The first one is durability, sound and craftsmanship. Durability is very important with choosing any guitar amp. The amp must stand up to the beating of live gigs and the road. Marshalls can definetely hold there own in this category. Marshalls have a reputation for being extremely well made.

The next factor is sound, and boy do they deliver. Marshalls are the peak in sound perfection. Once you can get those tubes warm, you are as good as gold. Tubes are what produce an amps sound if it is a "tube amp" which most higher end Marshall amps have. They are little glass tubes inside the amp head. When inside the amp head gets warm, the tubes heat up and produce sound. The hotter they get, the more sound they produce and the better the sound.

Tube amps can have pros and cons though. The big pro is that the amp sound incredible. The amp tends to be much more warm sounding than a solid state amp, an amp with no tubes. There are many cons to having a tube amp though. One con is that the tubes need to be replaced often which can cost hundreds of dollars. Another con to tube amps is that they require alot of attention, and matonance. This is because the glass tube are very delicate and can break easily. The third con to tube amps is that they cost a lot. Most tube amps run upwards of $1,000.

If you are all about sound, and don't care about matonance or cost than tube amps are great. They over power solid state amps in my opinion. There really is no comparison sound wise. Tube amps are way better sounding. Marshall amps are really great for any musician. Marshall amps are now catering to any musical preference. Now all you metal players can get as much gain as you want. A good amp to demonstrate this is the Marshall dsl100mlb or also known as the jcm2000. This amp was made specifically to cator to heavy metal players and soft jazz players. This amp really has a plethra of different tones. It really is great for any genre of music.

Whether a heavy metal fan, or a jazz musician, Marshall amps has been delivering for over fifty years. All i can say is that if you have not had the pleasure of owning one or even playing one, go right now and do so. You will not regret it.
