On Thanksgiving we all give thanks,
for the gifts that God has gave.
They might not be a monetary
But, they are gifts that are necessary.
Like the gift of the smile in your childs eyes
The loving family and friends by your side
The roof you have over your head
The comfort of a nice warm bed
The food we have at our table to eat
When so many others we cannot feed
The health of your children, is a blessing
It's these things that we all seem to be missing
We take them for granted everyday
Be thankful for them because in a moment
They could be taken away.
Remember to give thanks for these everyday things
Because you never know what tomorrow can bring.

Poetry: What I'm thankful for
I need no life-changing fortune
To be grateful for what I have
No need to pursue happiness
When for my simple life I am
For wind and rain and green growing things,
Let us be thankful.
For gladdening sun and bright blue sky,
Let us be thankful.

Be thankful
For every day
For every person
In their own special way
Be thankful for blue skies
For warm sunlight
by Terrence Aym
The sun has risen once again.
The touch of your soft, warm hand,
The blossoming garden outside our door,
What I'm thankful
My humble thanks I give to Thee
For a life of relative peace and harmony
While some starve and suffer horrors untold
I feast
