Poetry: Drowning

A cry for help...

I've come to ask a favor
as I slowly fall apart
Could someone please advise me
on matters of the heart

I fell in love some time ago
with someone I've not met
and now each lonely day I'm bound
to this damned internet

I know that if I stay here
I may be bound forever
waiting for him to be ready
and there's a chance that he won't ever

But I can't bear to leave here
and close this door for good
I know this very well because
I've tried and never could

I cannot even contemplate
being with another man
as long as I am here with him
I know I never can

I have no one to turn to
who truly understands
the constant jetlagged feeling
and restrictions this love demands

It seems that every way I turn
I'm faced with towering walls
and they're closing in on me
as darkness slowly falls

Any advice would be appreciated
as I'm still in love with him
but I'm so far out of my depth here
and I don't know how to swim

    Drowning.
The sea is ever close, always in my head,
