Eric Bischoff could potentially help the company in terms of experience. Here is one who has actually competed against Vince McMahon with WCW. He was able to do something no one has been able to in the Monday Night Wars being able to defeat Vince McMahon 84 weeks in a row. He would later be last seen in mainstream wrestling involved with World Wrestling Entertainment. He became the on-air GM of Raw. During that time, it just seemed to be of a shock because of the fact he worked for Vince.
Apparently, he is going to be joining up with Hulk Hogan to go to TNA. It will be a question of what role is he going to have with the company. It is unlikely he will be given a lot of power in terms of being a booker and may not desire the headache of that because of challenging it is. He too who is one who had butted heads with Vince Russo in the past but it may be able to be mended to where it can be a professional working relationship.
Until he appears on camera for TNA in some type of role or even just a backstage role, it is going to seem like he could just be a tease on coming to TNA. It is going to be a curious move and could seriously impact the industry in a way that hopefully helps it out for the better. The Monday Night Wars was perhaps the single best time to be a wrestling fan because you had multiple options and could decide to watch WWE or TNA at the time.
Is it going to impact the company? That remains to be seen and will again depend upon the role that he has been given in the company and could be good. If he does get involved with possibility an idea of developing talent to come to TNA that could really be a benefit. With young wrestlers always coming up in the industry, it would be a great idea for Eric Bischoff to use that as a platform to start having new wrestlers get ready to compete in TNA. That would be an ideal situation in the sense of being a good eye for talent and developing characters along the way.
If the company is going to make a change, it can hopefully be for the better and it would again depend on what his role is with the company and how he fits in as well. If he doesn't fit, it will not work out well. It would be great to see TNA become a major player in the industry. They are the second largest promotion in the United States by default and have room to continue growth. Hopefully this will work but only time will tell.
