"Baru, Fist of Krosa" is a 4/4 legendary green human druid printed as a rare for the Magic the Gathering expansion set known as "Future Sight." In this respect, this is the type of card meant to be played in an aggressive green deck with plenty of green creatures and Forests. In a sense, Baru, Fist of Krosa could be deemed as a predecessor to the current Landfall cards in the "Zendikar" expansion set.
The converted mana cost for Baru, Fist of Krosa is five. You will need two green mana and three colorless mana to bring Baru, Fist of Krosa onto the battlefield. For what Baru, Fist of Krosa can do, the casting cost seems to be worth it for the most part. Keep in mind that Baru, Fist of Krosa is a legendary creature and is subject to the "legendary rule." Should there be at least two cards on the battlefield named "Baru, Fist of Krosa," they both get sent to the battlefield.
What does Baru, Fist of Krosa do in the first place?
Baru, Fist of Krosa has two great abilities. The first ability is great if you have a green deck. If your opponents are also using green decks, the Baru, Fist of Krosa will definitely help you out. Whenever a Forest is played, all of your green creatures get +1/+1 and Trample until the end of the turn. Because of this, you would want to play aggressively. The beauty of this ability is that the Forest does not even have to come under your control. Having a bunch of green creatures with Trample is great. You can attack your opponents and still have a chance to deal combat damage to them.
The second ability of Baru, Fist of Krosa is known as Grandeur. You can use this if you already have one Baru, Fist of Krosa on the battlefield and another Baru, Fist of Krosa in your hand. To use the Grandeur ability, you simply discard the Baru, Fist of Krosa card that is in your hand. If you do, get to put an X/X green wurm token onto the battlefield. X is equal to the number of lands you control.
You can abuse both abilities for the most part. Should you do the Grandeur ability and put out the X/X green wurm token, you can play a Forest. That would give the X/X green wurm token +1/+1 and Trample. If you have enough lands on the battlefield, you can do much damage with the wurm token.
Overall, Baru, Fist of Krosa is a great card to have in a pure green deck. Due to this ability, if you are making a mono-green EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander) deck, Baru, Fist of Krosa does make an excellent general.
