Stay at home moms and dads still need to earn money and for the sake of their sanity they need to do more than burp babies, feed them and change their nappies. Writing articles is an excellent way for a stay at home mom or dad to earn some money whilst they are caring for their children. They can fit it in around child care. It is up to them when they start, when they have a break, when they stop. They can choose whether they do it for just half an hour a day or a lot longer, depending on how much they enjoy writing, how seriously they wish to earn money and how well organised they are.

One of the appeals ought to be that by writing they are entering an adult grown up World. People who stay at home with children all day get into the habit of only talking to kids and lose out on adult interaction and conversation. By writing for adults they stay part of the adult World. If they use community boards, sites and message boards they might make some friends, some of those might also be stay at home moms and dads, and then staying at home with the baby may seem less lonely.

Most of us have a reasonable grasp of the English language and knowledge about various areas of life, all we have to do is share this with others. If we get a day when we feel we are too busy or for various reasons we just cannot get on the computer it does not matter, we can just return to it when we are in the mood or when we have more time. Where children and babies demand our time and we have to jump when they click their fingers, we are in control of this and we can say no when it suits us. We might get a week where we feel very productive and the words flow from our fingers, then we might not want to bother at all for no real reason other than it bores us at the time. That is fine as you are your own boss and you decide if and when you take part.

There are a lot of writing sites you can look at with a view to earning money but having looked at all of them myself I am sure Helium is the best one. Because it is a very easy site to understand and navigate, with a Help section when you are unsure and a mentor if you would like one. But it also gives you a lot of different opportunities to earn money. By filling an empty title, by winning a competition or selling a marketplace article and by earning a continuing income every time someone reads one of your articles. Some sites charge you to join or to be a member, Helium is free. If you are only going to join one site make it Helium and enjoy what you do while you earn.
