There are a lot of different names that you can name the little bundle of Joy. Naming any new member of the family can be hard, whether he or she is a new baby, a dog, a cat, a bird, or a rat, whatever he or she may be. It really doesn't matter. Sometimes you just know once you see his or her face- the name just comes to you and other times it requires more thought.

I myself am blessed to have three very different Chihuahuas; their names are Shadow, which I named him because he followed me everywhere I went when he was a puppy and also from his coat; Annabelle, was given to us by a previous owner; and Nene Girl, which means Baby Girl in Chamorro.

Some of the following names come from the Mexican heritage where the Chihuahuas come from. Some other names that you can consider are Arriba which is a Spanish word which means hurrah, Chulo which means good-looking, Chusco which means funny, Domingo, Jefe which means chief, Paco, and Pappy for males. For females you can name themAngel, Ardilla, Fee fee, Dulce which means sweet, Joya which means Jewel, Fluffy, Linda, Beautiful, Luna which means moon, Pepita, Lady and Baby.

Some gender neutral names are pumpkin, pookie, squirt, gizmo, tiny, and muffin. Some people like to give their Chihuahuas very interesting names like killer, monster, tiger, Spike, Butch, Crowl, King, Prince, Taco, Bell, Murcielago which means bat, El Diablo, Satellite for their big ears, the list goes on and on.

Not even to mention the regular people names that you can name him or her. There are a lot of different names that you can name your new Chihuahua. Just look into those precious little eyes and you'll know what name represents him or her best and if the name still doesn't come to you, just observe his or her behavior and think what traits do they have. For example: If they sleep a lot you can name them Aurora like Sleeping Beauty's Princess Aurora, or if he or she has a very squeaky bark you can call him or her squeaker, another one if he or she likes to eat a lot then you can name him or her pokey which is a Chamorro word which means fatty. The possibilities are endless! Feel free to be creative; there are no limitations when it comes to naming your new little bundle of love.
