Poetry: For you

by Erica Thomas

Created on: November 06, 2009

The stars descent was stopped tonight

a falling star intercepted, ending mid flight.

Passions and desires consumed at once

the star didn't twirl or perform its stunts.

As someone wished upon the light

the star consumed all her fright.

The fears and all the unknowns

lit up the sky with beautiful undertones.

Can you imagine the fears and all pain

could disappear with a falling star making you sane.

When the clouds are out and the sky is black

let your imagination pick up the slack.

You will find a star, the same I look upon

close your eyes, fell the wind, and hear its song.

Imagine it falling, streaking against the sky

let your heart soar, your soul reaching up high.

Can you feel me right next to you

when the miles are many and the calls so few.

I'm always laying next to you, wrapped in your arms

your love make me safe and free from harm.

As that star streaked tonight I could feel

finally able to open up and lift that seal.

As the fear left replaced by inspiration

the star burned out leaving leaving me with isolation.

So at this moment, I will close my eyes

let the light of the star soothe our cries.
