Looking back on childhood and missing it

When I was a child my parents seemed a million feet tall, and they couldn't do any wrong. I always felt safe in their arms. I wish I had that now. Almost a safe haven to go to when times got tough. Sure I still have my mom, but now it is different, I have my own family, my own responsibilities. So I will be my children's safe haven now. I will protect them like a mother hen.

I have heard a lot of people say that they will strive to do better for their children then their parents did for them. But all in all I haven't met a person yet to say that they do not miss their childhood. Sure, as an adult we can stay up how ever long we like or eat what ever we want. But as time moves forward, and as we age, life can throw us for a loop.

Suffering from the battles of everyday adulthood we seem to loss that child like quality of not having worries and just living in the moment. Remembering slumber parties and the excitement of believing in imaginary things, I am sure some adults wish that they had that back. But if we lived life the way we did when we were children the whole world would be a happier place. Cherishing the simple things like going to the park or skipping down the side walk. Always trying new things and seeing how much you can get away with. We all should take that into consideration when we wake up and try to live life like it is the last day that we have left. Almost like children do, they don't care about anything but what is going on right at that moment. They are not worrying about meeting their quota, or how they are going to lose that Holiday weight gain.

As an adult we should practice to love and cherish every moment we have with our loved ones and be happy to be able to do things that we have always wanted to do. If you are not happy with your life there is no reason why you can not change it. The only person holding you back is you. And the child inside of you is telling you to go for your dreams! So Live your life through child like eyes remembering what great times we had when we were children and steam off of that. Life is way too short.
