Whale watching tours in Victoria, BC

If your visiting Victoria B.C Canada there are dozens of places that you can go and partake in the fun activity of whale watching. In Victoria it is very possible that you will get the chance to see whales while on your trip and many of the companies guarantee that you will see them which is the whole purpose of taking the trip.

Springtide Whale Tours is one such company that provides whale watching tours. You can take either a zodiac boat or the larger Marauder IV vessel that is complete with washrooms and serves refreshments during your 3 hour voyage. If you take the zodiac you will get thrown around quite a bit and naturally get wet but they do provide gear if you want it. It is not recommended for people who may have neck or back problems and is more suitable for younger people wanting to see whales or those with a more adventuresome nature. The larger boat also has a security railing around the sides of the boat so you can leave the cabin and walk around the boat to see the whales just be sure to hold on at all times because the boat can start and stop suddenly.

Be sure to arrive a half hour or so before your boat is scheduled to leave so the company can get everyone set up to go. You can pre- register online before you get there if you want, or pay once you arrive as long as there is room for you. It is better to register since Victoria is a very busy tourist area of B.C. Once the boat leaves they will attempt to find whales based on information that they have. Our group was lucky and we got to see both Orca whales and humpback whales. The boat even moved out to a lighthouse where there were sea lions on the rocks . The tour guide did a very good job explaining the whales and made everyone feel comfortable on the boat. The boat made turns and set itself up so everyone could get a glimpse of the whales even older people who didn't wan to leave the comfort of the back of the boat to go to the front. The people running the tour clearly knew what they were doing and it was a very pleasant experience to partake in. This whale watching company is highly recommended and you can reach them at the following address located below this article.
