Become a Twitter Quitter.

Don't let anyone convince you that Twitter is cool. It isn't. Twitters stat counts are overrated. No one actually reads their tweets. If they do then they are also losers.

Twitter is a useless time vampire. There are too many social networking sites, and there is too little time to use them. People are suffering from profile fatigue.

Twitter is not cool. If you have a career and a family, you don't have the time or the inclination to read more than a few tweets a day. If you want to know what's in the news go online. Don't sift through 13,000 useless tweets.

Twitter was supposed to give regular people a window to their friends and favorite celebrities. Ashton Kutcher has 4,000,000 followers, 2 of whom actually read his useless brain drool. Ashton is cool; Twitter is not. People don't have 18 hours every day to read his semi-literate rants about fantasy football.

Media whores use twitter to promote themselves and slam others. Do you want to hear Jon Gosslen complain about Kate more than necessary? Only media pimps who run the gossip rags read his whining. Read the rags; at least you get a glossy picture with it. Soon celebrities will stop making drunken tweets that they regret ten seconds after sending.

Now celebrities tweet advertisements likes commercials. And, they get paid. Pseudo-celebrities spend hours making followers. Then, they tweet to each other about their followers. Whole websites were generated by losers teach other losers how to seduce bigger losers into follow them. Dorks, dweebs, and losers get their egos stroked by thinking that 3000 people are following them. Twitter is realizing how jumbled and created lists for their users. More lists which people can ignore.

The novelty of twitter is wearing off for "regular people" too. Nobody cares who had a great workout or who is stuck in traffic. People are allowed only one amazing lunch per week before they are presumed to be "making crap up."

Twitter was supposed bring you close and personal with the 1000 people you know best. It doesn't work. Text message alerts about Uncle Joe's awesome lasagna are interesting the first time. Getting 300 tweets from your grumpy friends every Monday morning is annoying.

Real people ignore twitter. They have real jobs and real lives that are not centered on generating 10,000 fictional followers. They don't want 17 different cnn.com headline updates every hour. They are connected through the internet, email, Facebook and MySpace. Twitter is inefficient and redundant.

People can't follow more than 12 people closely. Daily updates from 12 friends or family take time to read and respond to. If you use twitter you are drowning in data. Over 25 million tweets are made every day. Who can read that much?

Most people silence their twitter account notifications after a week and don't log on again. Celebrities will eventually figure this out. They will realize few people care about them as much as they care about themselves.

Twitter is a waste of time.
