When searching for easy preschool crafts for Thanksgiving, simplify your ideas and create a wonderful masterpiece. Preschoolers are capable of a certain amount and quality of work, but ultimately you need to flex your imagination to come up with a great preschool craft idea to engage their thoughts.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and preschool children are eager to make crafts in the spirit of Thanksgiving. There are many simple arts and crafts that can easily be done to honour this holiday season. Some of the more simple preschool crafts that can be made during the school day include; a Turkey Wreath and a Pilgrim Hat that can hold treats.

To assemble a turkey wreath for preschool crafts, you will need to have on hand the following supplies; paper plates (available from a dollar store), brown poster paint, a paintbrush, construction paper (brown, orange, blue, red, green, and yellow), scissors, glue, yarn (or old shoelaces), a sewing needle, old newspapers, and a hole punch.

Once these supplies (enough for however many preschool students there are, plus extras in case of mistakes) are ready, the preschool crafts for Thanksgiving are ready to be made. These crafts need adult guidance and assistance.

To make a turkey wreath, the first step is to remove the center of a paper plate so that the outer edge, or rim, forms the shape of a wreath. If there is not a perforation of any sort, you can trace anything circular in the middle of the plate to give you a starting point. Next, use the brown poster paint and the paintbrush to coat this rim with colour, and set it aside so that it may dry.

Use the hole punch to make a hole in the plate, and then tie a loop of yarn or an old shoelace through the hole to make the noose to use as a hanger.

The next step in making the turkey wreath is to cut out a head for the turkey, using the brown construction paper. Once cut out, glue it to the bottom front of the wreath. Cut out eyes, a beak, and a wattle from the construction paper and glue them in their proper place on the head of the turkey. Cut out legs from the orange construction paper, and glue them so that they hang directly below the head at the bottom of the the wreath.

In order to manufacture feathers for the turkey, cut out lots of small strips from the different colours of construction paper. Wrap each strip tightly around a sewing needle, and then carefully slide the needle out of the rolled paper. With all of these multi-coloured paper curls, glue them all
