Preschool arts and craft projects are always fun and engaging for the students. When the Christmas season is upon us, preschoolers pick up a hint of excitement in the air, and are more than willing to do all things festive. There are many great preschool arts and crafts projects that will illuminate the mind and intoxicate the eye.
Making Christmas arts and crafts with preschool children is a fun activity to keep them busy during the chaotic and exciting time of the Christmas season. These simple activities will be fun to do, and they are useful once completed.
The spirit of Christmas looms near, and it is time for preschool teachers to think about preparing some arts and crafts projects for their students to do for Christmas. Preschool children love Christmas time, since it is such a magical time of year. A very simple preschool arts and crafts project for Christmas is to make a Santa Claus Mask. These masks are fun because preschool children typically love to dress up and play pretend.
What you need to have for this arts and crafts project is a bag of paper plates, red and pink construction paper, cotton balls, scissors, stapler, and glue. The first thing that you need to do is cut out the center of the paper plate and save the outer edge, or rim. Next, cut out a red triangle hat from the construction paper, and glue it to the top of the paper plate rim. Glue a cotton ball at the point of the hat, and a strip of cotton balls along the bottom of the hat.
The next step is to glue some cotton balls all around the rim of the plate to make Santa's beard. You can then use the pink construction paper to cut out pink cheeks and a red nose, gluing them in their proper places. Staple the ends of a strip of red paper to each side of the back of the mask so that the strip forms a band that will serve to keep hold of the mask where it should be.
The preschool children can then place their Santa Claus masks over their heads, and then the teacher can even have them pretend to be Santa and take turns giving out Candy Canes to the other preschool children.
Another preschool arts and crafts project for Christmas is a candle-holder. This simple to make ornament can adorn the Dining Room table of their houses, giving the children some sense of ownership over the decorations. During Christmas dinner, this candle-holder can be lit, which will in turn light a piece of happiness within the preschool child.
To make the candle-holder, you will need the following supplies; a small
