Some may not be using Twitter but the term uncool does not apply. Twitter is an option for many individuals and it is a site that is gaining popularity and in that respect it is the thing to do. Twitter offers an opportunity to follow others and others the opportunity to follow your postings just like Facebook. One of the options available is to block those you do not wish to receive your postings when they decided to access your activity. Twitter is cool as it offers a search capability to find individuals, organizations, companies, topics and you can even search for individuals on other networks. Private messages can be sent between those following you and those you follow. This is a good thing.
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. The limitation to 140 characters forces you to keep your postings short and to the point. This is a good quality that will be beneficial in the workforce. One of the things different on twitter is when people follow you on other sites you appear in their network where twitter allows the option to opt in or opt out of receiving updates. Another aspect is when they follow you it is not required that you follow them. Following on twitter is a one-way action. According to a site titled alexa.com Twitter has page rank of 9 and has a traffic rank of 13 overall and in the United States. Sites linking to Twitter total 290,529 which is comparable to Facebook and MySpace. These kinds of statistics clearly indicate that Twitter is the thing to do. Being uncool indicates that something is not within the current fashion to do or is the current standard for a particular group.
Twitter is fast becoming a site to which many are now taking the time to understand and participate. To learn more about twitter and how to use it there is a help option on the site which explains everything about it and what changes have occurred and why. According to a site called widexl.com the number of links to Twitter is 13,982,979 which is a large number. The updates called tweets can be anything. Some of the current limits on twitter are 1,000 updates per day and up to 250 private messages per day. These limits provide the capability of posting a large amount of information about what you are doing or have done. Posting a tweet can also be events in the future either personal or business. What you post is up to you within reasonable limits of acceptability.
Twitter is just one option of many networking sites but the organization is one that is easy to use and has a large amount of followers/users as indicated by the number of links to the site. The number of links is opportunities to connect with millions of others that may be the only connection to people interested in what you are doing personally or your activities/events in your business. It is a good way to identify any new products or ventures that you may be considering and getting feedback without going through expensive marketing options. Another point to consider is the quality of the site and how it is structured. On alexa.com this site has received 26 reviews and has a ranking of 4 starts out of 5. This kind of satisfaction with those familiar with the site is a positive aspect for people to consider using the resources it provides.
