I have to admit that it was very difficult for me to arrive at the best song for 2009. Difficult, I must say here is an understatement because how can you explain arriving at the best among the best? I mean, in the midst of great songs released this year like Beyonce's Halo, Miley Cyrus's Better on the Other Side, Jay Z's Empire State of the Mind and Run this Town, Eminem's Beautiful, Kanye West's Paranoid, Lady Gaga's Love Game, Paparazzi and the rest, newcomer Drake's Best I ever had and Succesful, Jay Sean's Down and the list goes on and on (if you want to add that).

However, after so much analysis, listening, and may be you may want to add criticisms. I finally arrived at the best song for 2009 and the song no doubt deserves it. The song, I Gotta Feeling, by the Black Eyed Peas from their platinum certified album The E.N.Dsure is everybody's favorite for 2009. Produced by French DJ, David Guetta, the song is really a song that you can play (as will.i.am stated) in your car or after a long day or week at work and I might just add, a song that will trigger you to throw your stress way and even a song you can play in the church (just joking).

I Gotta Feeling debuted at number 2 on the billboard charts behind the groups number one single Boom Boom Pow. It went on the beat Boom Boom Pow out of the number one spot and remained there for a record fourteen weeks and reached number one on twenty charts worldwide. The song, over a pop-throbbing beat with contributions from all members of the group relays the group's melodious massage that "tonight is definitely going to be a good night." One good thing about the song is the simple but "intelligent" beat which you can always get engrossed in together with the rich lyrical content (which is lacking in so many musicals these days) and the music delivery.

Furthermore, this is a song you can play for inspiration (maybe, when you need to be left alone), you can rotate it on your I pod without getting bored (just like I did) and also you can play it in your car when going to work and also when returning from work or other businesses. All these qualities have made the song break many feats such as selling more than 4 million digital downloads in the United States alone, "living" on billboard Hot 100 number one spot for a record fourteen weeks and in addition becoming the group, Black eyed Peas most successful single ever.

Moreover, the song has continued to gain more international success climbing all the way to number one in musical charts in more than 25 countries so far, making the song rank among the best singles of the year internationally. If I am to rate the song out of five stars, I will definitely give out three stars out of the five (and mind you, am very stingy in ratings and my three stars may probably be another man's four out of five or even five out of the whole five).

In conclusion, I Gotta Feeling is a must listen as the great lyrics of the song in addition to the simple but melodious beat will amongst others, try and encourage you when you feel you are down. Also you can use this song for even work-outs (yes, you can). In general, the song has possessed all the qualities to make it the best song for a year (including enjoying massive spins on radio) and has gone on to become a very huge international hit. I 'gotta feeling' that the song is definitely the best for 2009.
