Employees want to be able to wake up and not dread going to their place of employment. Working in a positive working environment, fosters a place where employees are treated well and feel valued. If you do not feel good after leaving your job, chances are you are working in an environment where employees are not treated well.
Employees always expect to be treated with respect from management and the individuals they are working with. Every organization should be aware of what the employee feels is important to them. If employees feel that there has been no interest shown in what is important to them, it signals that the organization does not care about them. This makes it more difficult to get to the root of what motivates the employee to do a good job,
Employees should be given the opportunity to become excited about their own development. When you have energised and exciting employees, you are building a train for other employees to jump on because stimulated employees are contagious. Employees love to share the positive things they have made an impact on. Talented employees will expect the recognition in the workplace or they will go elsewhere.
Employees want to know what to do and have clear expectations on how to accomplish their goals. Providing employees with the knowledge base to accomplish their tasks will help the employee to build confidence and a yearning to do a even better job. It is no secret to any organization that employees will learn more quickly when they have the right working environment.
Without respect an organization cannot create a productive working environment. Organizations need to understand that the definition of respect can mean different things to different individuals. There is a fine line of communication that needs to occur between management and the employee. Employees expect the opportunity to give feedback about their roles in an organization.
Employees expect to be treated fairly at work. This is an example where feedback can be utilized to take into consideration an employees point of view. Employees want their abilities and knowledge to be reflected on the tasks they are assigned. Employees will find it difficult to work for an organization that lets the same individuals have the opportunity to shine. Employees expect challenges to be available to all capable employees and not a chosen few.
Every employee is different. Employees do not want to be placed in a position where they cannot perform a task with competence.
