One of the major problems with putting out a big creature is that by the time you have it on the board you don't have all that much time in order to kill your opponent with it because they have had considerably time to build up their own offense. And while the definition of a large creature is one that will kill your opponent quickly that doesn't mean much if it is simply blocked by one of your opponent's small creatures because while destroying a 1/1 or a 2/2 creature early in the game is useful doing the same when the game is nearing its end is hardly worth your time. The solution to this is reasonably simple, trample, but most big creatures don't have it which is where Sunrise Sovereign comes into play.
Sunrise Sovereign is a rare giant warrior from the Lorwyn expansion set of magic the gathering. It costs one red and five colorless to put into play and is a 5/5 creature with no other abilities that effect itself, but it does have two bonuses that are given to all other giants.
The first is that it gives all other giants +2/+2. This is a nod to the power of the giants as all the other tribes get +1/+1 but it isn't an unimportant difference mostly because of the second ability.
Sunrise Sovereign gives all the other giant trample. With the +2/+2 this means that most of the creatures that your opponent will choose to block with will do nothing to effect the base power of those giants. This means that even with only one or two other giants you should be able to kill the opponent in a turn or two.
The problem is that the odds of you being able to survive long enough to have three giants in play in a constructed deck is very low. The reason for this is simple enough, one any opponent will have some removal and you are almost certainly not to be able to play more than one giant a turn. The more important reason is because unless you have something that slows your opponent down considerably they are likely to have killed you before you have time to play that many creatures. But if you can overcome this then this card is vital in your giants deck because trample is the most important ability that you can give to a large creature.
