He Holds Me
~ * ~
Streams of living water flow from the Word
Pour out to soothe a wounded, hurting soul
And as I eat of the Word in hopes to calm the ache inside
I can see that He is here and He is always holding me
He never sleeps and never tires, He never loses hope
Constantly looking down to see if I have found my way
And when I don't, He cries out for me to turn, for me to see
Maybe as a Father, maybe as a friend, however you relate to Him
He loves you still through the wreckage of the worst you've ever been
When I suffered, when I cried, when I felt like I could die
He was there in the midst, weeping with me for my life
That's why He came, that's why He laid down His life so it would not be all in vain
That we struggle and push past our hurts to help others throughout our stay
So when we lay our weary heads on our pillows and we rest
It can be true and complete and it has not been a waste
For He loves us enough to slow time and teach us love and faith and hope
Knowing that we will grow, and we will grow or wilt and fade
The only true way to life is through the glory of His name
For despite it all, He saves

Poetry: In God's hands
by Kathy Ballew
Why don’t you say, you’ve had a bad day
When it’s true, that you often do?
Why can’t you tell, you’re
I could fret and worry just about every day
But instead I choose just to kneel down and pray
I could let my anger build
by April Self
The hands that shaped the world's creation,
the giver of my writing inspiration.
His strong fingers that soothe a worried
In God's hand my life is held,
With every breath that I take.
From the very start of day,
When I begin to awake.
I know
by Tammy A
I stand before you, Lord
In Your presence I should feel shame
Knowing I fall short of your glory
That I have strayed too far
