When I think of apps for my iPhone, I am thinking about apps that will be useful in some way. Of course, there are many apps that slip through the crack, and once they are up for review, the users find very little usefulness in them. 3D Fireworks has to be one of the most inconsequential and useless apps available for sale at the iTunes store. Not only will you waste your time with this app, but you will surely waste your money if you do not download the 3D Fireworks Lite (which is costless).
3D Fireworks is basically an app that allows its user to watch a fireworks show without having to wait for the Fourth of July or for New Year's Eve. While this premise is all well and good, it can be a boring one. I have used this app once and I was engaged and interested for the first few minutes. I must admit that the app was interesting at first; you are able to customize the "show" and you can watch the show at varying angles. On the other hand, you can only repeat this process for so long, since once the show is done, you know that the next show won't be much different. And the next show after that? It won't be much different, either.
The graphics are not bad at all. I had expected less from such an inexpensive game, but then again, the player is wasting his time more so than his money. And, as it has been said many times before, time is money.
The app itself can benefit from a nice revamp. For example, instead of just allowing the player to watch a pre-made fireworks show, why not allow the player to customize and create his own fireworks show and then view it? Not only that, but the developers can also add features that allow the player to e-mail the creation or to allow others to see it in some way. This will surely improve the playability of the game, as well as the amount of enjoyment that users will have.
All in all, if you want to see what this app is about, I encourage you to try the free version first. The paid version and the free version are basically similar, except that in the free version you will have to deal with advertisements. However, that does not really add or subtract to the app's quality.
