If you are thinking of becoming a blogger, there are many challenges that you are going to face when it comes to starting a successful blog. There are a lot of things that you have to consider when you blog, and when you start any type of writing enterprise. Just having talent and good work ethic aren't always enough when it comes to writing. Here are some good tips to get your blog off the ground.

The first thing you need to do is to establish yourself elsewhere before you start writing your blog. Having a blog is great, but how are you going to get other people to read your work if you aren't established elsewhere? Your parents, and your friends might not be enough to support quitting your job to simply blog all day.

Where is your money coming from? Are you getting money from advertisers or is someone else actually paying you to provide content on their site? It wouldn't really be the same if you were writing for someone else, but it couldn't hurt to get your own blog going by first building up an audience on another site, or for someone else. This could attract advertisers to you.

Do you have a good topic to be writing about? Are you writing about something that interests you, or are you writing about something that will interest other people as well? It might be a lot of fun to blog about the lizards in the rain forest, but does anyone else want to read about it? Are you promoting your cause, or are you going to be writing something that people are going to be interested in, and therefore helping to make you money?

What is the writing style for the blog? Are you going to be writing long entries every day, or just quick hitters every hour or few minutes? Some people like reading thought out blog posts, while others like to read quick news stories every so often. Are you going to be a source for news, or are you going to be linking to other sources. Those are things to think about.

All blogs start small, so you have to be patient when you are going out there for the first time. You need to find your voice, and where you money is coming from. You need to be able to withstand failure, and have a good knack as a writer, and provider of content. If you can do that, you can be a great blogger.
