Poetry: Angry tears

Beyond

You spilled your pain across the pages of my soul

as if it was not indelible ink

and the stain might fade one day. It wouldn't.

I bore your marks,

the scars you left behind as an afterthought.

Wearied by your shredding talons,

I grew, if only to resent your constant anguish,

your unceasing horrors

that diminished Beauty where she would breathe.

I raged when you turned my love against me,

a club in your hands

to decimate all that's good and true.

How can you curl in shadows,

a wingd viper without resolution?

Why can you not be satisfied,

no matter how many gifts are laid at your feet?

I have torn my heart

with grieving for your sake.

I am knotted and mangled

by your infinite darkness.

Yet, still I am arisen from the ash,

complete.
