Showering, like feeding your fish or checking your e-mail, is part of the everyday routine (at least, one would hope). Every move is systematic: you turn on the water, disrobe while the water heats, check the water once, adjust the temperature, step in, etc. Approximately seven forgettable minutes later, you emerge from the shower, dry off, and carry on with your daily routine. You are neither thrilled with the events of the past seven minutes, nor dissatisfied. This shower was just like your shower yesterday and the day before.

Now invite your significant other into the shower with you, and all of a sudden, this once-mundane ritual is an event; an event with some very exciting possibilities.

So why do couples enjoy showering together?

Sure, you've seen your partner nude: most likely 75% of that nudity you've witnessed has taken place in the bedroom with the lights dimmed or completely off. But how often do you see your partner's exposed body in the natural light from the shower window (if you're lucky enough to have a window in your shower), or watch tiny streams of water make their way down your partner's torso, limbs or face? This natural setting of water and light enhances the mood, making you and your partner look and feel extra sexy.

The What's This? Factor

Ladies, many of you have some very interesting, lovely and mysterious bath products. Your man has no idea what that little black bar with the rough edges in your shower is. for This is your opportunity to educate him on all the lotions and potions that make you so alluring to him! There is a good chance he's been wondering, and with some gentle nudging, you may just get him to try some of your products. (Tell your man not to fret: you won't think he's any less manly for using your exfoliator. Good hygiene is a turn-on.)

Everybody's Favorite

What better way is there to spend what would be an otherwise mundane seven minutes of your life than lathering up each other's bodies with your favorite soap? Forget the visual and educational factors stated above; the prospect of touching your partner's body, and being touched in return is reason enough to jump in the shower together. The reason couples enjoy this part the most (as do I) is because the same body parts that have become so familiar to the touch are now slippery and just a little bit cleaner than they were before.
