The times that are everlasting and well spent
The joy of festivities emerging from lasting events
The tides that are never yielding and roll with a riveting pace
I long for these things evermore for that's what I'm thankful for
The smoke filled journey developing from an open fire
The joy of a clear non assuming day, Isn't that what we desire
The love I have for my family and their unconditional acceptance of my being
I long for these things evermore for that's what I'm thankful for
The hope for a better and brighter future during times of despair
The strength to overcome sorrow during moments that are beyond repair
The beauty of life itself as exhibited from the birth of a new born
I long for these things evermore for that's what I'm thankful for
The joy of being employed when no jobs are avaliable
The ability to go through an open door when no other outlets are accessible
The homegoing of a love one suffering for God has provided a better place
The joyful times that I have experienced as I anticipate my day of fate
I often emerge home without incident or scar
Our mission is to compromise without incident or the threat of war
The promise for a better tomorrow is within our sight
Our daily struggle should always include a grasp for new heights
My unwillingness to stray off task and willingness to be redirected
My willingness to be distracted and unwillingness to fail despite interuption
I long for these things evermore for that's what I'm thankful for

Poetry: What I'm thankful for
I need no life-changing fortune
To be grateful for what I have
No need to pursue happiness
When for my simple life I am
For wind and rain and green growing things,
Let us be thankful.
For gladdening sun and bright blue sky,
Let us be thankful.
by Ila Ann
Be thankful
For every day
For every person
In their own special way
Be thankful for blue skies
For warm sunlight
by Terrence Aym
The sun has risen once again.
The touch of your soft, warm hand,
The blossoming garden outside our door,
What I'm thankful
My humble thanks I give to Thee
For a life of relative peace and harmony
While some starve and suffer horrors untold
I feast
