Winning pickup lines

Men often wonder if there are any pick-up lines that actually work. The answer is "yes," if you remember that timing is key and confidence is everything. That being said, there are a few tried-and-true lines that guarantee a second glance at the very least.

First Impressions: Lines for when you first see her.

"Apart from being sexy, what do you do for a living?"

This works right away because it starts out with flattery and then gets the girl talking about herself, which you know they love!

"Does (name a brand she is wearing) pay you to wear that outfit? Because you look damn good in it."

Again, this works with the flattery but it also shows her that you pay attention to the little things, even if the brand name was written right ascross her chest!

Ask a woman for the time, then say, "OK so it's January 3rd at 10:55pm, thanks, I wanted to make note of the first moment that I saw you."

This line gets her thinking that you are sentimental, that you will remember anniversaries and dates, even if she doesn't realize it right away, this is why she will fall for this pick-up line.

Flattery: Lines that are best after talking for a short time.

"Did the sun just come out, or was that you smiling at me?"

This one can be used early than during conversation, but it seems to have more honesty to it once you've been chatting up a girl for a few minutes. Oh yea, be sure to wait until she smiles!

"Can I see your hand?" She holds it out and you take her hand and pretend to read her palm, then say, "Actually I can't read palms, I just wanted an excuse to hold your hand."

Girls love this sweet stuff, plus you get to touch her! And don't get discouraged if she pulls her hand away, she probably still thinks you're sweet.

"I know I don't know you, but I think I love you already."

You've got to be careful with this one. If you've got a real psycho on your hands, she may take it literally, and then you'll be planning your wedding as you walk out of the place. I would save this line as a desperate measures move. If all else fails, bring out the "L" word.

Enders: Lines that work best as you're walking away.

Hold up a $100 bill and rip it in half in front of her. Put your number on one half and give it to her and say, "Call me tomorrow so we can tape this bill back together and figure out a way to spend it."

For this line to be most effective, you should walk away after you say it. Also, don't use less than a $100 bill, if you don't have $100 to spare, don't use this one. And if you're really desperate use more!

"Do you have a watch on? I want to know how long it took for me to fall in love with you."

There's that "L" word again, so be careful.

No Guarantee: The following lines will not always work, but if you know your audience and what you want to gain from the line, they can still do the job!

"Baby, did you fart? Because you just blew me away."

Just understand the impression you're leaving with this one, if that's you're intent, go for it!

"Do you come here often?"

It's an obvious line, but that doesn't mean it can't work.

"Pull my finger."

I'd only use this one of your maturity is below a 7th-grade level and the girls you are seeking are on the same level.

"My name is Mr. Right; somebody told me you were looking for me."

It's funny, but also an obvious pick-up. Used with the right girl though, it could still leave you looking adorable.

As with any pre-thought out line, try to come across as genuine as possible when delivering these pick-ups. Know the end game that you have in mind. Some lines will work for a one-night stand, while others may lead to a meaningful conversation. If you know what you want, you can figure out the best line for the job!
