How companies can leave a lighter impact on the planet

You and everyone you know, wildlife, animals, and even your pet, is a culprit of impacting the health of the planet. Everything we do in our everyday life impairs the atmosphere we need most. But needless to say the biggest culprits are those who run or work in companies and businesses. People are generally lazy especially when it comes to making changes. But there are numerous ways people and businesses can change the way they do day-to-day things in order to leave a lighter impact on the planet.

One of these ways are what we eat. Companies have employees; employees need food. And they acquire this food by the easiest and cheapest way possible. An example of this is pre-packed sandwiches, fast food take aways, crisps (potato chips) etc...Such foods all come in plastic, foil, metal, or non-biodegradable materials. So for companies to start leaving a lighter impact on the planet they must first sort out what they take for granted the most.

Then we come to transport. Not everyone wants to travel with their colleague in the same vehicle for 'car-sharing'. It can work for some but not everyone. Not everyone can tolerate getting on a bus; taxis can be expensive, and trains are inappropriate for many. Getting to work by any means other than using a fossil fuel using vehicle is an excellent way to start helping the planet. Traveling by bike or walking is not only helpful for the atmosphere, it is very good for the metabolism. Even if you live 5 (five) miles from your work place, getting up earlier and getting fresh air will make you feel even more better in yourself. Businesses need to market this strategy to their employees in order to make 'themselves' a more efficient company.

Companies run on paper: invoices, bills, statements, emails, faxes, envelopes, notes. To make a business office run efficiently the most used commodity is paper. And as we know 85% of paper comes from trees; and trees we know are needed to make a clean atmosphere. The other 15% is recycled paper often used for hand towels, some paper jotters and cheap envelopes. For a company to show that it is making an effort to help create a lighter impact on the planet must be consciously aware of how much paper it can actually get through in one day. On a good note emailing and the internet has helped considerably with the amount of paper used in letter writing, finding information for research and so forth.

Finally we come to electricity and water. We all use the toilet during the day. And each time
