What has been the best software of 2009? There are a few software titles that should be noted here, so here are a few of the best:
Windows 7
Windows 7 is the latest Windows OS, which has not disappointed. It has introduced a number of worthwhile enhancements to Windows such as enhanced application and new key tools that have left some suggesting it to be one of the best Windows operating systems. This was not so much the case with its predecessor Windows Vista, and it seems that Windows 7 has given the necessary revamp to Vista. To quote PC Plus:
"Windows 7 shows significant improvements over Vista, and should give XP fans a reason to upgrade."
Open Office Suite
The Open Office suite of software is freeware office software that includes a word processor, spreadsheet, database and drawing software in addition to extensions which add further features. In Open Office three, Writer is a particularly good word processor and along with the other software included it is perhaps the best office software of 2009 so far, which provides many of the options and features of commercial packages.
Mozilla Firefox 3.5
The Mozilla Firefox Web browsers remain the best, despite IE 8 and Google Chrome which has been a good alternative. Firefox 3.5 is very flexible, and is supported by operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS and Linux. In addition to this, Firefox 3.5 also supports the most extensions, and plug-ins of the browsers. For more details and Firefox add-ons, it is best to visit Mozilla Firefox.
Google Picasa 3.5
Picasa 3.5 has introduced a good number of further features to this graphics software. The presentation options have been further enhanced, with a greater variety of slide-shows. In addition, some further image editing options have been included to keep Picasa amongst some of the top freeware software.
Paint.NET
The Paint.NET graphics software has a number of great options and features. It includes a number of effects such as blurring and sharpening, as well as further image editing options. So overall, as freeware software this has been one of the best graphics software alongside Picasa 3.5, and the more commercial titles.
Overall, those are some of the best software for 2009. Windows 7 has certainly been the most exciting OS, while Picasa, Paint.NET, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and the Open Office suite have all been good software.
