From the days it occupied the entire room, the computer had evolved to be a more complicated machine that can process data at a much faster rate and present information in a more complex manner. I remember the time I was dreaming of a computer that could truly play recorded music instead of just beeping tunes. However, when I got my second computer in the mid 90s, my dream became a reality. Besides desktops and laptops, a computer can also come in a form that one can carry around or wear. However, since the desktop computer is the more popular type, I will concentrate on such computer.
Today, the computer is mainly used for surfing the Internet. The future of the computer in relations to the Internet is an interesting subject to look into. The modern computer allows faster access to the Internet in general unless you have gone passed your daily download allowance which may cause your connection to slow down. Some computer manufacturers have also come out with keyboards and other peripherals to make browsing the web pages an easier task. There may be also development of computers that are completely dedicated to the Internet with easier-to-use interfaces making attending classes to learn how to use the Internet a thing of the past. As one do not have to take a course on how to turn on the television, one no longer has to attend a class to learn how to surf the Internet as such class will no longer be in existence due to the simplicity and user-friendliness of the technology. It is also possible that numbers can be used as alternatives to visit a website as some people may find it faster to type with numbers. We have already been using numbers for many years to make a telephone call. Perhaps, one day we can also type in a number to connect to a website.
Although the computer of today is very much more advanced than its old counterpart, there is still room for improvement especially in its reliability. It is my ardent wish that one day messages that inform me about programs not responding will no longer appear on my screen and the system will tell me whether it is worth my time installing a particular piece of software. A computer will hardly crash especially in its first three years of life and using a computer will always be a joy.
We can know listen to music and watch videos on the computer. Composers can now use the computer to compose music and be able to hear how their composition may sound like even without gathering their musicians to perform their compositions.
