There are a lot of sites that you can write for now. Some of them charge you to join, others charge a certain amount each month to belong to them, others such as Helium are totally free of charge. Some people prefer to use several sites whilst others stick to one. Whether you use just one site or several there are some tips that will help you to make money writing online articles.

Firstly you must treat this as a serious job. If you are intending to write one article now and then it will not work. The people who have made money from writing online and have a decent residual income trickling in from it are those who have prioritised their online writing career and spent a lot of time on it. They may well have written articles every day for a year or more until they have enough quality articles working for them. When you talk to the online writers who already have a good residual income they will tell you they have 2000 or more articles... and they are still constantly adding more to their list. If you think you can write a dozen or so and then just sit back and watch the money come in, well, you are living in a dream world. If only it was all that quick and simple! Online writing is a wonderful idea but as with any other freelance work, self employed work or work that pays you only get out of it what you put into it. Hundreds of so called online writers fall by the wayside when they realise they cannot simply invest a few measly hours into it and then earn a lot of money, so if you are not realistic about what you need to invest in this project do not start it in the first place.

Work out how many hours a month you will be putting into this project. Even if you are a very busy person with another job there must be a way you can find time to designate specifically for this. I know a lady who does two full-time "proper" jobs so she designates a few hours every night when her husband and children are asleep and writes before she goes to bed. It is the only spare time she has. But she would rather do that and invest time in working on her articles and she knows that in a year or two she can relax and reap the rewards of her efforts. Of course, most people have more spare time than her and you might be able to work out a way that you can put in more time towards your writing so that you build up your articles quicker or so that you can still go to bed at your usual time, you have to find what fits in with your ambitions
