WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR TEXAS HOLD EM GAME
*It's not how good a player you are, it's how bad the other players are. Always try to go in a tournament that is beneath your level, rather than above; that way you will always be one of the better players at, if not the best at the table, makes sense, right? Because it doesn't matter which table you won at, as long as you win.
* Know when to fold on good cards. Just because you may have an Ace and a Queen, doesn't mean they will always be winning cards. E.g. If two Kings come up on the flop, chances are someone will have triple kings, you get my drift? Some folks just don't know when to fold.
* Knowing when to fold is very important, work out what they may have, a flush or straight is easy to spot. Saving your bankroll by folding, is just as good as winning because it's money you haven't lost.
* Don't get upset if you folded on bad cards and then they come up, it will happen 1 in every 6 hands, very low odds, just know you did the right thing by folding on bad cards. If you were to take chances on luck alone, you would win 1 in every 6 hands, not really worth it.
* Now this may seem simple but LEARN THE RULES. You would be surprised at how many people say they are professionals but in actual fact only the basics. For example, in Texas Hold Em, you DO NOT need to use either of your hole (or hand cards ) to get a winning hand. Here is an excellent example where this comes into play; who do you think will win this hand? The suits don't matter in this case.
(player 1) K9
(player 2) 77
(player 3) A9
(community cards) 2 4 3 A 5
Most people will answer that player 3 is the winner because he has AA. Yes this is true, player 3 does have a double Ace but they also have a straight, A to 5 (remember, you don't need your hole/hand cards to get your best possible hand) and because a straight is higher than AA, only the straight is counted. Now notice that the other two players also have a straight (A to 5), so therefore, everyone has a straight and everyone shares the pot. Now of course if someone had a 6, now that would be a whole different story.
*Good poker players know that you need strategy and not luck to win in poker. Of course luck comes into it, but if you are just depending on luck, you will only win one in every six games, on average. So even if the blinds are relatively low, you will still be on a losing streak. First you must learn which nut cards or hole cards (cards given to you) are the best ones to keep and this can either
