YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL PLANET......

My name is Prof. Barbara Nichols and I'm a botanist with the University of California Berkley. I need to tell someone...anyone if at all possible what happened to us. Maybe "they" will have mercy and spare some of us to live someplace else .....but I doubt it.

It's been at least twenty-seven years since all those beautiful, silvery little flowers floated to earth. They were delivered by a meteor shower sent by the aliens. The little flowers fell all over the world. Not one country was missed. Then there was the message received from SETI and they shared it with the world. The message was "You have a beautiful planet." It wasn't too clear but you could make that out. No one knew what that meant and nothing else was ever added but SETI proved without a doubt that the message came from an alien source.

There was a lot of fear and confusion at first with all of Earth's governments and religious leaders but what could they do? The truth came out. The way it came out was done in such a way that it could not be covered up be any government. Besides SETI receiving the message so did everyone with a computer. The message ran on the bottom of the monitors for twenty-four hours world-wide in all languages. The governments couldn't hide that. Somebody sure wanted us to know what we already knew about our own planet. We thought we were being sent a gift. We were stunned when we found out the truth. All was not as it seemed.

We didn't notice anything for a long while because everyone was distracted by the alien contact. We only heard and read the message. They never showed themselves. We thought it was because they were still so far away. But that did not turn out to be the case.

"Dr. Nichols have you seen the most recent tests on those tiny flowers yet?" asked Jackson Moore my student assistant. "I'm just coming to those. Have you found something different?" I wondered.

"Yes I think I have. I think they might be more than just flowers. They must be seeds. Do you know what the implications are if we have alien vegetation growing on our planet?" Jackson said excitedly. "Yes Jackson I believe it would be momentous."

Sure enough within that first year we were getting reports that they were indeed growing. People said that the more mature ones had a very pleasant, almost intoxicating scent. Over time we saw something else. People began sitting around the flowers and smelling them for hours at a time. As well as smelling so good they were so
