Thanksgiving is a holiday that encourages sharing and the feeling of the sense of community. These are values, among others, that should be taught to all young children. However, even teachers need a little help with their lesson plans and a Thanksgiving-themed lesson plan is no exception. The following websites will help you make your Thanksgiving lesson a sure success.
This is a great educational website that offers many links to useful worksheets, such as reading logs, bulletin board trims, and even coloring pages. Although it is a great idea to use these worksheets to help you teach Thanksgiving, it is more important to use these worksheets to teach the values that make up Thanksgiving. Remember, holidays are often never taken at face value, and their importance to us, culturally and socially, should be taken seriously.
This is yet another great website from which you can download and print worksheets, such as those for math and word searches. However, this website does not have as many worksheets available compared to ABC Teach. On the other hand, you may have fun looking around the website and find other worksheets that can be relevant to future lesson plans.
This is a website that looks good to visitors of the site but is even better when you are a member. Unfortunately, you will need to pay $20 per year to access, fully, all of the goodies that are available. This is, however, a small fee considering all of the worksheets and activities and crafts ideas you get in your membership.
This is perhaps one of the best websites available, especially since there are so many worksheets and links for educators to follow. You will find appropriate activities labeled for specific grade levels, which will ultimately help you and your students in the long run. EdHelper, unlike Enchanted Learning, is free.
This is a website geared specifically towards helping your students succeed in math. Although your students will be performing math operations, they will do so with Thanksgiving-themed worksheets. This is overall a nice free website.
As you can see, there are plenty of choices and sources you can make and keep when you want to look for Thanksgiving worksheets. Many of these websites are free, and those that ask for a yearly membership fee are most often worth it. However, if you decide that these worksheets are not to your liking, you can always edit and make changes to them.
